About

Clay Studio Canberra is owned and operated by two friends, Joanne Searle and Sharon Craft.

Our intention is to host a range of opportunities to explore clay in our relaxed and beautiful space. Our offerings are designed for beginners through to advanced makers. Offering one-off clay experiences, on going classes and workshops.

Sharon and Joanne each hold degrees from the ANU School of Art and Design and share a love of clay.

The studio

Our bespoke Ceramics Studio is located in the leafy Canberra suburb of Stirling, Canberra. Positioned within a re-purposed ACT school, the building is the old potting shed from previous school Horticulture classes.

The light filled space holds 6 wheels and a large central hand building table. A range of different clays are available allowing students to explore surface effects. All tools and equipment are provided for ease of making and creativity.
